War on WordPress – Part 2
The security landscape around web applications and WordPress as the leading CMS is constantly changing. In this talk I’d like to share data on the latest threats and how we as WP professionals can mitigate them.
Even at web application level we can see current events affecting our servers and sites for example when the U.S. moves nuclear submarines, servers and sites in the U.S. see a rise in attacks.
We can mitigate these risks by employing an ‘onion’ of security. DNS security to stop bad actors from even reaching the server, server security and firewalls, and application-level security.
If time allows I would like to discuss common data leakage in WP that can be seen in all sizes of sites and how we can protect customer information better.
